DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 3 (Three): American shelf clocks: (1) Marsh, Gilbert & Co., Farmington, Conn., carved half column and carved eagle splat shelf clock with a weight driven 30 hour time and strike movement in a mahogany veneered case, c1833; (2) Boardman & Wells, Bristol, Conn., carved half column and carved splat case only, c1835. (3) Solomon C. Spring, Bristol, Conn., half column shelf clock with a weight driven, 8 day, time and strike strap brass movement in a rosewood veneered case, c1860.
CONDITION: (1) The case has been refinished. The original painted dial has some loss at the screw holes. The hands appear original. The lower door glass has been replaced; (2) The case has been lightly refinished. The door mirror has age. (3) The case has original finish with veneer loss in several areas. The column gilt caps and bases have some loss. The original painted dial has loss. The hands are incorrect. The glass tablet has some flaking and back painting and is old, if not period. The 8 day weights are missing, ***NOTES*** The dimensions are for clock number 1.
